As the Marines say: We are always looking for a few good people. Nordel has a completely open membership policy. In general we leave other affiliations at the door - the common bond is a love of HO model railroading as a hobby. I (Das VebMeister), do not have a home layout - my only layout is Nordel's. My personal preference leans to realistic operations but I also do electrical projects, serve as a member of the DCC Committee, have a creative outlet in scenery building and serve the club as Treasurer. It doesn't matter what your interest is or how far along you are in the hobby - there is always plenty of opportunity to have fun and associate with kindred spirits. Notice that we have an Associate category. These folks have no interest in business meetings but only want to follow the aesthetic, creative and operational aspects. More importantly, they do not count as a voting quorum so the business meetings proceed on schedule.
